Tomorrow night a singularity occurs on South Iowa Avenue - recycling and post-modern garbage will be packed in non-biodegradable plastic bags.I think that it is time to reintroduce the concept of the kitchen midden. Let me emphasize that I am not suggesting that you pile garbage under your kitchen window, rather it is a convenient use of your neighbor's yard. If we're going to have raccoons and opossums running around everywhere, we might as well provide them with an incentive to live at the neighbor's house.

Protest Plastic Garbage Bags! They can't make you use them. I thought the point was to make the garbage disappear - really disappear, as in biodegrade.
Bury your veggie trash in your garden - feed the nasty stuff to your dog/cat/hog - shred the paper and use it for bedding in the worm bed in the basement - dump your unrecycleable trash in Wal-Mart's dumpster 'cause 'From those to whom much has been given, much is expected.' Take THAT, Wally!
